Common questions about visiting this destination
Yes. The treks on this trip are mild to moderate and the walking days are short, which makes it a comfortable pick for first time trekkers and casual travellers alike.
March to June and September to December both work well, each with its own character, from fresh spring greens to crisp winter air. The monsoon months bring a higher risk of landslides on the mountain roads.
It is a short trek from Jalori Pass, about 4 km through dense forest to reach the lake and the 360 degree viewpoint nearby, usually covered in a few hours round trip.
Network is limited and patchy across the valley. Treat the trip as a good chance to disconnect and enjoy the quiet of Tirthan Valley.
2 nights of accommodation in Jibhi on a sharing basis, with bonfire and music evenings included, weather permitting.
No special permits are required. Just carry a valid government issued photo ID, as it is mandatory for all guests and may be asked for at checkpoints along the way.
